PERMIT TO CARRY

How to apply for your State of New Jersey Permit to Carry.

For all questions and concerns, please contact your local police department or state police barracks.

This is for informational use only and Range 129 is not responsible for whether or not you receive a permit to carry. 

PERMIT TO CARRY APPLICATION

One Form Needed!

Please use the following link to a fillable PDF. Fill this out to the best of your abilities and you will need to include the following information;

- Municipal Code - which can be found in the link below.

- Driver's License and NJ FID Numbers

- References - 4 references that you have known for more than 3 years.

Please keep in mind that you will need to print this out double-sided. 

This also must be notarized~

CONSENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH FORM

You will need to fill out NJSP Form SP066, which can be found below.

PHOTOGRAPHS NEEDED

You will need Two (2) color passport size photographs to be included with your application.

       PROOF OF OWNERSHIP

You will need to provide proof of ownership of the firearm(s) you intend to carry. This can be a purchase receipt, purchase permit or a notarized letter of ownership listing make, model, and serial number(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

Written Qualifications must be within six (6) months of application and include Instructors Name and Certification as well as make, model, caliber and serial number of handgun(s) you intend to carry.

OUR TRAINING SERVICES

Qualify at Range 129! 

Please keep in mind that if you wish to partake in the following courses to qualify for the Permit to Carry, you must have your own firearm and an 'Outside the Waistband' (OWB) holster.

Before you qualify, you must meet the specified prerequisites down below.

STEP 3: NJ CARRY PERMIT QUALIFICATION

Prerequisite Courses:

- Range 129 Basic Handgun 

- Range 129 Basic Holster


* NRA Live Fire or other Live Fire Certifications can be utilized, but must be presented and will be reviewed prior to acceptance.

STEP 2: BASIC HOLSTER

Prerequisite Course:

-Range 129 Basic Handgun 

-Outside the Waistband Kydex-type holster needed!

STEP 1: BASIC HANDGUN

This class goes over the fundamentals of firearms safety with live fire drills.

If dealing directly with the State Police - A money order in the amount of $200.00 payable to the New Jersey State Police must accompany this application when submitted to the Superintendent.


If applying through your local Police Department - A money order in the amount of $50.00 payable to the New Jersey State Police must accompany this application when submitted to a municipality along with an additional $150.00 fee paid directly to the municipality.

Also, please know that you will be required to be fingerprinted for your Permit to Carry and will be given a Contributor Case Number by the agency that receives your application.
